This may sound dumb to you, and your friend may hate you forever, but you need to tell her parents immediatly. This is very dangerous and how young girls get abducted/raped/killed. She is to young to be on MySpace to begin with. Her mother needs to put some parental controls on that comp. If you don't want anyone to know, maybe send an anonymous letter to her home...if something happens to her, you'll just hate yourself for not doing something.

Meeting on the net is fun- and flirting seems to be the thing to do for people of all ages. It isnt weird- but if they are gonna meet and hang out then I think there needs to be a crowd. I do think 12 is way to young to be "online dating". It makes me wonder why she is aloud to roam the net without her parents interviening... I dont have a 12 year old yet though... It may end up being harder than I thought to keep children safe while using the computer.

I can only suggest you speak with her parents. They know her best. if that's not a good move, from your point of view, then just try to talk with her & make sure she knows all she should about staying safe.

Good luck!
(I have an 11 y/o son who's been a Goth for 6 months & just told me he's bi! How can I keep him away from 14-15-16 y/o guys or girls, when he meets up with a bunch of them twice a week? I either have him rebel & hate me, or teach him how to be safe & look out/think for himself).

Super creepy. The guy is probably some 60 year old pervert. It sounds like your friend needs to be very cautious.

Well that's just STUPID! If she hasn't met him.......you need to talk to your friend and help her out before she ends up on the news in a bad way.

Is she planning on meeting this guy in person? You could warn her of the danger she might get into. If she ignores it, you should talk with her parents.

you should talk to your friend because he probably isn't 16, this could be a dangerous situation, she is too young to thinking about a boyfriend

such an age spread to be so young. she needs to back away and reconsider what she has gotten herslef into. depending on what type of person he is, i would be leary of him because of the age difference
