Not sure if you are referring to the culture of the nursing profession in society or the culture of the patients. (I am answering in regard to the patients.) Some cultures have strong beliefs about women being touched or unclothed in a medical setting if the medical professional is male. Each culture has different beliefs about medical treatments (for example blood transfusions and amputations,) and each culture differs in views on a patient's right to know information, care for the elderly, and on death and dying in general. So, studying different cultures in terms of the nursing profession could help a nurse avoid embarrassing or offending a patient by unknowingly disrespecting their beliefs. Anyway, most of it you learn on the job, so just ask people if they have any cultural or religious beliefs that they would like to be incorporated into their care. People will gladly tell you.

If you wanted to work with refugees in foreign countries or work help anyone in foreign countries, studying culture and society is very important in understanding the customs of the people you might be working with. I think it would be a very noble profession to be a nurse and help take care of starving or sick people in third-world countries. That's my opinion.

Well learning about ones culture can help destroy racism so that a nurse that has to deal with someone can deal with or not get offended. I know officers study some about how to deal with people socially.
