Go to the library and check out some books on writing songs. Being able to play a piano, or guitar is almost a must when putting together a song. There are forms that you must follow, in order for it to work out correctly. I know many very good musicians that can't write songs. You must have a good ear for music, and be able to invision the lyrics as you put together the music at the same time. I am a professional songwriter and have over thirty published works out there. I first started to learn my trade in the 1980's, and it wasn't until the early 1990's that I was able to write a sub-par song. I began writing as a professional around 1994. I had many years experience as a singer/musician under my belt, before I ever attempted to write my own songs. Some find it easier than others do, and some even have a natural ability to write. You can't just take any poem and turn it into a song, as it is not that simple. There is no exact answer to your question, other than learning how the song is supposed to look, how many lines are proper, and composing music that will work with the lyrics you create. After many years of writting, I finally got good enough to be able to make it all work together. Get some books on the subject, learn the proper outline and guidelines to follow, and start with simple lyrics. In the book you will learn about hooks, verses, chorus, breaks, builds, and other things that are far beyond me explaining it here. Songwriting is a talent, and not everyone will ever reach a point to where they can be successful at writing and composing. I hope I have been of some help to you. Good Luck!!!

Dont write a song on a random topic.... you must go by how you are feeling at that point and write about how you feel. After you finish, place words with rhythm in your feelings. Use the main point in your writing for your chours. I hope this is good info.

I think of a problem and write how I feel. If I am happy, I write about good things and when I'm sad, I write about bad things. If it sounds any good, I sell it to a record company.

just let loose! pick up a writing utensil and let your thoughts and feelings flood out onto the paper. it doesnt neccesarily have to make sense, just write what you feel and then you can revise it later. then play around with some instruments to get music!

How do you talk? Sorry pal, but you cant be taught this really. You can learn the forms of different types of music, but its art, there really is no wrong way or right way. Just sit down and do what sounds good to you.
