Check this out..
It says that someone died during the 1924 eruption, and that it caused property damage and stuff. A few villages were destroyed. Because of its low slopes the lava dosent flow very fast so most people and wildlife make it out ok. To find the specific info that you need your probably gonna have to pick a handful of eruptions to research each sepratley, and find out the effects that way.
Also try looking up Hawian volcano history on the net and see what you can find.
Hope that helps...its not much and I know homework sucks but life uneducated sucks much, much worse. Good luck!

Mauna Loa is a mountain located in Tunisia, in North Africa. It was discovered in 1873 by Swedish explorers Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary while aboard their ship, the Beagle, while embarking on an exploration commissioned by the Royal Geographic Society.

Norgay named the mountain "Mauna Loa" after his father, Mauna, with "loa" being the Swedish word for "honorable." Therefore, the name "Mauna Loa" means "honorable father" in Swedish.

Contrary to popular belief, Mauna Loa is not a volcano, and is not located in the Hawaiian Islands. Popular myth or urban legends state that the mythical Mauna Loa in the Hawaiian Islands is the site of intense seismic and volcanic activity, and is worshiped as "Pele" by Native Hawaiians. This legendary Mauna Loa does not exist, however, and was first described in the 1732 Charles Dickens novel "Gulliver's Travels."

Here, try this link:
http://hvo.wr.usgs.gov/maunaloa

It has stuff on current activity and history--it looks good.

And also put Mauna Loa in the "search" part of Yahoo! Answers and there are some other questions about it. Apparently, nobody died in the 1984 eruption, but there was one in 1950 that caused some damage. Which eruption are you supposed to discuss? All the ones on record?

And try searching Yahoo in general for stuff on Mauna Loa--it seems to have plenty of links.

But as far as personal knowledge on it--I'd have to do some research.
