A large coefficient of friction is a rough surface like the surface of a road.

A low coefficient of friction is slippery, like ice.

The lowest known, regularly encountered co-efficient of friction substance is Teflon. That is promoted as "Nothing sticks to it".

There are adhesives such as Epoxy such that the co-efficient is stronger than the molecular structure of the objects they contact.

The co-efficent is dependant upon the the tendency for the surfaces to allow air and\or water and\or oils to come between them. The less likely the surfaces will allow such intervening materials, the higher the co-efficient.
