I had a girlfriend that kept her car hidden from the repo dudes for over a year. She eventually settled up plus some nominal penelties and kept the car.

if you hide it...they will find it. Most finance companies will work with you on the payment. Just call them and tell them...2 weeks and you'll be back on track.
Even if you hide it...they will persue you in court. the best thing is be honest with them...make a promise to pay and do so...you'll be back on track in no time.
All they want is their money...and they will get it one way or another. It's easier for them to work with you rather than go through the trouble of sending the repo man out.

Chances are good that even if you start to catch up on the payments they might take it anyway-- so think like a thief. Go out for a ride one day, park it in a remote and safe location, and hitchhike back or get someone to pick you up.
If it's a newer bike it may have a location chip on it. In that case you might be fu*ked. If you are intent on keeping the vehicle be weaselly. Otherwise just give up. A lot of the time it's not worth the hassle. Keep in mind: You can can always get another bike.

If you have the bike in a fenced area or locked garage, they cannot touch it in NC. They can call for assistance from the police or sheriff dept if they have a certificate of repossession on their person. Most of the time, dependeing on how far behind you are, they will just sue you for money owed on a motorcycle or ATV, since these things are really hard to locate. They will be spending extra money to have the manpower searching for your bike, just cheaper to pay the cost of having you summoned to court. Again i emphasize this is in my area, NC. The finance company is not out to get you, or stick it to you. They really are willing to work something out with you nine times out of ten. They have to keep money going out and coming in to meet their quotas, trust me they will work with you. The worst thing you can do is hide the bike from them. Hope this helps a little! Keep your bike! Call em!

do anything you can to keep it, because if they take it back, they will sell if for a lot less than you owe on it and then come after your for the rest of your life :
My son had one repoed over 10years ago and the company sold the contract about 4 times and every time the we get more threatening letters.:(

Contact the co.and tell them you will have the money in 2 wks to catch up on the pymts.Ask them if they want you will bring in the bike to keep untill you can bring in the money in exactly 2 wks. If you are honest they will give you back the bike. You will save your credit score and be back in their good graces,if you don't then you will not even be able to buy a pack of gum on credit. Now the question is , "are you honest"?

they can still repo it if the company wants to,,, also they can have the cops come to your house, and charge you with theift of property,, you need to call the company and work out an arrangement with them,, maybe they can hold it at the dealership for you till you come up with the money owed on it, or some thing.

i own a repair shop, and if they take you to court on it before you get the money your going to be in more trouble than ever,t might be a good idea to let them take it ,rather than go to jail, and it can happen i have seen it to many times before, if they don't look real hard for it you,ll be alright, but if they do ,they can issue a warrant for your arrest,,good luck,i hope this help,s.
