My wife and I are happily married and after ten years we started sleeping in separate rooms and on separate floors.
We did this at first because of my young daughter was alone on the second floor and I couldn't stand to think of her alone upstairs so I moved in the spare bedroom.
We both have different sleep patterns and times. We are getting so much better sleep. If you have a good marriage and sleeping separate will not jeopardize your marriage then go for it or at least try.

If the emphasis is on "Feel Like" only (not actually moving out to another bed or room), then I would reckon it is after the first major argument and heartbreak!
This is truer for people with higher level of emotion and sensitivity.
I would tend to agree with 'hazegrey' above that 7-years thing sometimes comes as vicious cycles, though superstitious.

Gee, I guess that depends on the relationship. My uncle and aunt on one side stopped sleeping together after around 6 years, but on the other side my great-aunt and uncle have been married for 31 years and are still sleeping together. I've heard of couples sleeping separate after just one year.

It depends upon the couple and the circumstances the couple is experiencing.
BTW: Did ya'll know that couples ALWAYS slept in separate bedrooms until the first part of the Twentieth Century when it became "Fashionable"??? Do some research into the History of sleeping together and find out for yourselves. ;)

I've been with my guy for almost 9 years. He sleeps in the bed and I sleep on the couch.

id say in the 5 year range, possibly as long as 10, some couple dont ever seperate beds, but others do because of snoring, sheet grabbing, or other symptoms.

We're in it over 17 years, and can't imagine not having him there. He snores horribly, and I have insomnia, so we are not matched that way. He likes hot and I like cool, so that doesn't go. We even still have a double bed so we can be closer! (but wouldn't mind it to be longer, since we are both tall)

I wish my hubby and I had seperate rooms...not that I don't like snuggling with him, but unless I fall asleep before he does, I wont get any sleep because of his snoring...
If this is the issue with you, sleeping in seperate bedrooms will be fine, as long as you maintain the intimacy in your marriage.
