I need to get connection to the internet without plugging it in anywhere. I want to be able to get into the internet from wherever I am. So, how much does it cost?

A wireless network would not help you because you can only access the internet provided you are in a hotspot. You are prob better off with something like this http://www.mobileuniversepr.com/en/mobile_pccards.shtml . Basiclly you can get on the web from anywhere with one of those bad boys!

Most wireless routers using the "G" specification are available for about $50-$60. You'll also need a wireless adapter for your computer if it doesn't already have one, which is about $10-$30. That's it.
You attach the wireless router (sometimes called an "access point") to your internet connection, and it handles the wireless communication with computers within range. Keep in mind that the range will vary depending on walls, building materials, etc. -- and can be fairly small to very large. I use a Linksys Wireless G with Speedbooster wireless router, and can sit out in my backyard 80 feet away and have good signal...but downstairs only 20 feet from the router, the signal stinks -- because it has to go through a thick floor and insulation. Your mileage may vary :)

You will have to purchase two items: a wireless access point and a wireless card, if your laptop does not have one. A reasonable WAP will cost you no one than 60.00 and the card will be approx. 50.00.
