Hi,

Just about everything, however, be careful, lots of people died for some very ridiculous reasons. Mel Brooks does a wonderful spoof of Adolf Hitler for instance (among other things) in "The Producers."

If you are going to use history as humour, mix it up with some other events just as funny (as Mel Brooks did) in order to make sure it is funny.

The war of Jenkin's Ear- started become Jenkin's ear got cut off. It was around American revolution era, though I don't remember who fought (I think French and British) and I'm too lazy too look it up. Anyway, you asked for potential- so there's potential.
