Millions of people in America say they voted the way they did on Tuesday because of corruption and ethics issues. All this from a general population that has little room to talk given the fact that many of them have morality issues in their own lives. Kinda like the "kettle calling the kettle black", isn't it?

No one is perfect and most people have ethical struggles in their lives. AND most of us, despite our imperfections, are not making big bucks off the taxpayers to do unethical things-- like planning and sanctioning the killing of thousands of people.

Possibly, but there's a problem with your logic. The population that wants ethical reform is not necessarily the population that has "morality issues in thier own lives". You're guilty of the "sweeping generalization" logic error.
But in part you're correct. Even the most morally corrupt individuals in the world expect moral justice to be done TO them. Look at murderers fighting the death penalty, or some illegal aliens claiming unearned social services from the US.

Politicians are public servants, elected to serve the general population. Based on their ethics issues and corruption, the public can elect somebody else, if it so wishes.

Maybe they just said that's why they voted the way they did because that's the first thing that popped into their heads. You can't put too much stock in what most people say. They don't really know.

We expect our leaders to set an example- We might then mend our own ways. A fish rots from the head.

Criticism is always self criticism. The sins of the father stay with the son. The sins of the self will be inflicted on others.

I did not vote, of course, and I now have a big problem with something else pressing that's getting out of hand.

Yup, but then again everyone wants a government that seems "perfect" to them. They're aware they make mistake and they sin, they just don't want their leaders to do it too.
