You develop a tolerance for people with different customs and skin colors as well respect for their creeds. That way, you won't spend your life thinking that your ways are universally superior to everyone else's.

Definitely advantageous. First of all, my family is multicultural. Secondly, my father was in the Air Force, so I have always gone to school, lived and worked in multicultural settings. I find wonderful things to appreciate about all kinds of people from all over the country and all over the world. Plus I was raised to have manners and show respect and regard for all people. I am thankful for the upbringing and experiences I had.

There are a lot of benefits...you are a lot less likely to be prejudiced against other people, you gain a lot more empathy for other people and understand other cultures a lot better. I think exposure to a lot of different cultures and types of people can only help to ground people and make them realize that all people of all background can get along and do well. In this case because of the early exposure, it just becomes second nature.
