Everyone told me to vote. They insisted, said it was so important. They said I'm almost 30 years old and I need to be an adult. Can you believe that? So I went and I voted. What good did it do? My candidate, I wrote in "Jar Jar Binks" WAS NOT EVEN MENTIONED on the news. Why did I waste my time? Your vote DOES NOT matter! This is so stupid. Worse yet, when I got home from "voting", I missed my favorite show (My favorite show is a Jar Jar Binks show I make myself, so I can watch it when ever, but I like to watch it at the same time every day). So tell me, why does everyone care about voting so much?

See, the problem is that not enough people care about voting to actually do it. We want to listen to the news for a week before the elections and trust the media to give us correct information on canadaites. Then, if it doesn't interfer with watching Oprah or American Idol, we'll go punch a button or two. And if we don't know all the names on the ballot and what they stand for, then we'll just vote of Mickey Mouse and act like we are making some type of political statement about "ture choice". Truly, the reason everyone cares so much about voting is to have something to complain about. The majority of people don't vote because they really know what's going on politically or even what the canidate they support voting record looks like. They vote because they heard if they didn't vote for Joe that John might get elected and then gays could marry and babies be aborted. Or they vote for John because they heard Joe wanted to reinstate the draft and invade Iran too. Sorry...Sometime you just have a soapbox.

Because hundreds of people died crossing the ocean and making homesteads for that privilege. Because thousands of people died defending the right to have a representative government. Because it is not just your right, it is your responsibility to vote. Your vote along with all the others who vote matters. This last election was a statement about the majority of the American people disagreeing with the way the country was being run. Their votes will alter the country's course.

.because most of us vote because we care we don't waste our time going to the polls to vote for a fictitious character. You can write in anyone you want including yourself but all you did was waste a vote. Sorry you didn't get the attention you seem to do desperately need so you are getting a little from this message board hope It helps call a Psych Dr ASAP

I like to say if you don't vote you have no right to complain about our government. I hate those non-voters who complain, complain, complain! I also hate Jar Jar Binks.

Get a life. Instead of playing Star Wars and with yourself, why not do something that matters so that you will come to appreciate the value of the right to vote. Instead of playing make it real.

you didn't rate enough votes to be mentioned, you did put a dent in the competition, however if you did vote you would have voted on some important issues and tax Levy's and you would have had a voice in shaping new laws and deciding who is making decisions for you.
