fill half way with water, then boil water for 20-30 minutes. Scrub immediately with semi-abrasive pad.

If you are talking about the cooked on grease that is on the outside bottom of the copper pan ..use some Easy Off and if necessary then scrub with a SOS pad..

I have to assume you are talking about the junk inside the pots, and not the outside. If it is the inside you are talking about, try putting water in the pot, and bring it to a boil, scrape it after it comes to a boil, then dump out. Then using hot water from the sink, try spraying what is left off. Then scrub as normal, works for me everytime!

Of course, you mean the bottom. I wonder why these other folks think you would scrub your Revereware with Comet on the inside.

Anyhoo, I've had success with SOS pads. It takes a lot of elbow grease.

Try a denture cleaning tablet. Fill pan 1/3 full with hot water, drop in a tab and leave for an hour. If any gunk remains, use barkeeper's friend to scrub.

Try a little water in the bottom of the pot with about a tablespoon of dishwashing soap, put it on the burner and heat it up, this helps soften the cooked on stuff.
Good luck.
PS We use Dawn with bleach alternative, not sure if that matters

Also SOS pads are great for cooked on food.
