I have a boyfriend (I'm gay) with whom I have a really great relationship with. He is very into guys with great bodies and works with this stud who has an excellent figure including huge biceps of which my guy can't keep his eyes off. Over the past year I've noticed that they've become good friends and tend to flirt quite a bit with each other. Is this a normal component of comfortable gay and straight relationships? Should I be worried about anything? I've confronted my boyfriend about this and he says that there's nothing there and it's harmless. I'm not so convinced and need some opinions of straight guys who may be in this situation.

Friends come in all shapes, sizes and orientations.

Are you jealous because they seem to share a bond that you don't?

I think trust is important in a relationship. You should trust your partner unless he gives you reason not to trust him. It is very common for a straight man who is comfrotable with his sexuality to flirt with a straight man. If they run off and do things together while excluding you, I will be concerned. But if they are just doing harmless flirting, I wouldn't suspect there is anything going on. If your partner knows it makes you feel uncomfortable, I think he should make an effort to back off of this straight guy a bit.

Smile at him, ask for extra credit, stay after class and talk to him. Ask his personal advice on some sexy issue. Oh, and BTW, this scenario sounds fun in theory, but it will end in disaster if you do any of the things I suggested. They are jokes and are only to be used in your mind when you fantasize about him. That would probably be more fun anyway, in your fantasy he will do anything you want him to.

yeah i flirt with straight friends all the time (male and female) and it's all harmless fun, nothing would ever happen. if your boyfriend has never given you reason to doubt him, then don't. trust is the cornerstone of any relationship, so unless he gives you reason not to take him at his word.
