The problem with Mars is that you can't just live off the land very easily. You can't breathe the atmosphere. Living on Mars is going to happen but there needs to be ways of making it more like Earth. How can we do that? We have our military folks living on submarines for extended time periods. These folks and the space station astronauts may have the best answers to making Mars living possible. There is no doubt it can be done but do we as a nation have the will?

If there was an underground network of wise and friendly martians, who could tell good stories, if there were trees, flowers, rivers, lakes, breathable air, pure water and gardens for growing delicious things to eat, if there was musicians and writers and poets and dancers and painters, if there was no crime, or sickness or war or politicians, or Starbucks, I'd consider it. If they grew good things for the mind/spirit, (as in things that are frowned upon in some parts of the world), that would be a deal breaker. And I'd have to be able to bring a few friends, my cat and my mom. Then yeah, I would love to live on Mars. Otherwise, no, that place looks like a great big desert with no Vegas in the middle. I get thirsty just looking at the pictures. There would have to be an underground paradise, or else I would just stick with Earth. Once I got out of the city, I've started to actually like it here, more or less.

I think it would be great to live on another planet, it will be quite an experience. If that day ever comes, I'll be one of the first people to volunteer.

ABSOLUTELY - either that or send all politicians there - - on second thought, leave the politicians here where they can't spoil Mars!!

I would LOVE to escape the craziness of people on this planet, but I doubt that Martians would be much better!

Don't know if I'd want to live on it but it sounds like it might be fun to visit.
