I have always taken my children in the voting booth with me. I was never told I couldn't. I want it to be a part of who they are. This year my son turned 14 and he needs to understand who is on Capitol Hill and how their actions will affect his future. By the time some of these elected officials are up for re-election he will be an adult. They could vote on if he goes to college or goes to war in four years.

wow ! Hope she enjoys her 15 minute power trip. The entire sticker thing was icing on the cake. what a freak! If its a law that you can't show your kids how to vote than it should be on the dumb law website. The entire voting thing is a huge screwed up process.

You can only bring someone into the voting booth with you if it's for "procedural assistance," i.e. if you're handicapped or need language assistance.

The young children were able to come in because they needed to be in the care of their parent. Your son was old enough to be on his own.

The pollworker was correct.

Who cares?? Go to school and fill out a test with a # 1 pencil, it's the same thing. If you can read, you can vote. Not very difficult..

Hmm...when I voted yesterday people were bringing their children right in the booth with them...granted most of them were much younger than you, but I don't see what the problem is and quite frankly if you know what to expect it would help you in 2010, right?

You learned an important civics lesson, lots of public employees are powertripping b**ches. Won't be the last time you have to deal with that particular breed of bureacrat. Wait till you have to get your license.
