I was wondering about the new Spider-man...actully, my friend was. I'm not really into spider-man. He wants to know more about the movie and it's contents. More to the point of Venom. Can anyone give him some answers to work with?

yah its based on a cartoon. None of it is real. It will be like spider man 1 and 2 but with a different storyline. Other than that I dont know anyting about it.

The preview definitely shows the black Spider-Man, which means the symbiote comes into play. It also shows a character that is undeniably Eddie Brock, the reporter who becomes Venom after Peter rids himself of the evil symbiote through the use of a church bell, hinting that Venom will probably make an appearance in the movie, though it may not be until towards the end as a lead-in to another sequel. Sandman is also, without a doubt, shown in the preview - something to look forward to for sure, as he is a constant Spidey villain. Also, the Hobgoblin (Harry Osborn in his Dad's gear) is definitely in the flick. Peter's alternate love interest Liz Allan, a popular girl from his high school, also seems to have a bit part. Coming out on May, 4th 2007. Something to look forward to for the summer!

At one point in the comic book Spidey goes into space with the Fantastic Four, and on a alien Planet picks up the alien life form known as Venom. (Was during the late eighties and Marvel was trying to catch up with the whole dark super hero like Batman thing, so they could cash in... I.E., from red and blue to an all black spidey.) Any event, it makes him very evil, and he learns its the aliens lust for power that is turning him more violent, so he uses acoustics to rid himself of the alien symbiont... and its picked up by someone else.. a story all within itself.. Don't know if the movie will follow this plot, but there ya go. Oh and the sandman is a classic Spidey arch Villain.. so that should be cool.
