I have hundreds these little black bugs all over the window screens in my house! They kind if look like gnats or fruit flies, but they definitely aren't.

I live in the Midwest and they come every year around fall. They are small enough to go through the holes of the screens, they also never seem to move unless the screen is disturbed and then they like flock on you or just fall to the ground like they are dead! I can't even open my window without them coming inside the house and getting on the curtains and such. Does anyone else have this problem or does anyone else know what kind of bugs they are and how to get rid of them?

If they're the ones that have the most vicious bite...they're called pirate bugs. Our newspaper did an article about them a year or so ago because they were so prevalent. If I remember right, they show up around the time the farmers are getting into the fields harvesting. Like those asian beetles do. I don't remember though what they suggested you use to get rid of them.

I have those too, as I sit here they buzz around, they like light, I smash them or turn of the screen for a bit. You can also go into settings and dim the screen light or just put a desk lamp nearby for them, turning the light on in the room helps too.
