When I was younger, I never cared about politics. Once in a while, the school teacher would bring the topic up and I'll zone out what s/he said. However, now, I follow politics closely. In fact, I find the big elections to be really interesting. Is it because the battle between the Democrats and Republicans has intesified over the past couple of years or is it just me?

It's just you. Politics has always been really intense. In fact, there were many, many times in our history when it was much more intense (e.g., Segregation, Vietnam, Women's Lib, Isolationism between WWI and WWII, Reactions to Cold War, Gas Crisis in the 70s, fights between Reagen and Congress in the 80s...) Welcome to being a citizen!

No, it is just because when you were younger you didnt see how it all effected you, now you do. Politics is boring...they are all criminals, some of them you might just agree with more. I honestly don't see how they represent the people they allegedly represent...they can not relate to the common man, but they decide everything. We need two more strong parties involved to balance things out and give people more choices, but that won't happen any time soon.
