Sounds like your friend is being somewhat immature too. Maturity involves setting aside pride and foolish emotions (like whining when you don't get your way) and focusing more on the important things. The important thing here is that your friend is choosing to not be your friend. This may anger you and make you feel that you should get her back. Such thoughts are examples of being immature. What would doing something bad to her accomplish? It would definitely prove her point about you being immature. So rather than reduce yourself to that level, you try to find out what the real reason is. If she chooses to ignore you or tells you to leave, then there isn't anything more you can do. In being mature, you realize that she doesn't want to be your friend anymore for whatever reason and you carry on. You go out and try to make a new friend.

Maturity is something that you......a, well mature into. It doesn't happen all at once, just bit by bit (velveteen rabbit). Right now in this time and place, you are who you are, don't be something your not. As for child qualities..... Don't ever loose that....I am very old and what keeps me young is keeping some of those child qualities.....Your best friend will grow up some day and wish she was more like you.....

She could have said that so she'd feel better about leaving you for some new friends.

Being mature is something that happens as you grow up...it happens because of experiences you have.

Forget what she said and find some real friends....she wasn't your friend.
