You REAAALLLLY do NOT want IE to open automatically when you boot up do you???? I sincerely hope NOT!!! THAT is a very good way to get your puter infected with all kinds of mal-ware, i.e.: viruses, spyware and WORSE!!!
To get the IE ICON on your desktop, simply right-click on an open area of your desktop, choose Properties, choose the Desktop Tab, then the Customize Button, then put a check-mark in the box next to "Internet Explorer" at the top of the 'popup', then exit by clicking the OKs until you're out. Then you can move the Icon anywhere you want it by holding a right-click and dragging it to where you want it. You will then be able to click on it whenever you want to go on-line.

In your program menu, just copy the internet explorer icon to the Startup folder. If you don't have a startup folder, make one.
