You should check out myvirtualband.com. I just found it a couple of weeks ago and I am very impressed. You can post your part of a song (lyrics,guitar, whatever...) in mp3 format and the other members will add thier parts to it. It is under the creative commons lic. I have been listening to some that have been made and they sound quite good.
Check it out and see if this will do..
