When it comes down to the issues that truly affect Americans. There is not much of a difference at all.

Free Trade, Immigration, and Balanced budgets.

Different? Lets see - They both belong to the human species, made up of males and females, all have different facial features and body configurations. Lies have been found among the two parties, some believe that the war in Iraq is wrong, some do not.
Some are married with children some are not and the only thing that all have in common is that they are American Citizens, each with the right to have his or hers own idea!

Run the country differently? Why are Americans dying in Iraq?
Iraq is not a threat to America! If they are a threat, then why don't we just take them out? We have weapons that will take that country OUT in less than 10 minutes and we do not have to send one solider there to do it! We have bombs that when exploded burns up all the oxygen in a ten mile radius,

We can carpet bomb, with six bombers and there will not be a fly left after the bombs are dropped. We do not have to send troops in there to be shot at! Too IRAQ did not attack the US! Iraq was not part of 9/11! So why are we there?

Notice that we did not attack any countries that are known to have WMD. North Korea, China, Russia, Iran.

There is no country on earth where the citizens live under worst tyranny than in parts of Africa? I wonder why we did not take out any of those evil doers?

Nothing it's like asking what's the difference between two football teams. They both play the same game. Yes they have different views on some issues but that can change with public opinion. in the end it's not about taking care of the people it's about getting elected and getting paid. Getting elected is power and power is money. This election was all about we need change well think back to the first George W. Bush election against Al gore the republicans won on that exact same argument.
