No but it would be nice. Put a spring or some other self closing device to take care of the problem. You could put your box by the gate so they wouldn't have to open it but if they walk all the way to your door I wouldn't complain too much.

Yes. Because he is on your property and not public property. You have the gate closed for a reason ,example such as children, pets, Alzheimer's patients.

they are supposed to. why is your mailbox not outside your gate like its supposed to be?

if he opened it he should close it.the best thing to do is tell him to please close the gate when he leaves,he most likely will.
