One of my clients had some painters in...first they put some plaster on the wall to hide some nail marks and cracks but they were sloppy. There is a big (about 6 inches diameter) splotch of it dried up on the carpet. It looks like they tried to clean it up some but it looks terrible. Any suggestions?

If you're cleaning carpet stains made up of plaster, in most cases all you'll need is a good vacuum. A shop vac is especially good for this task. Once all of the plaster and powder is removed, cover the stain in a thick cloth saturated with dishwashing liquid. Leave for an hour or so to loosen the remaining plaster and blot clean with a sponge.

i might want to imagine some very solid solvent like perhaps kerosene or bleach perhaps, something that would want to burn it off. that is too volatile for the carpet besides the undeniable fact that it may melt the plaster. i love the hammer answer I said somebody else submit more effective. Use mine as purely a very last hotel. Wait perhaps sand paper, that doesn't impact the rug, because the rug is smooth the plaster is hard.

Tell them to clean it by washing it down with a steam cleaner or just plain damp cloths and gently comb it out with a comb. If this is sheet mud it is easy to get out with wet cloths and water and than allow it to dry., If it's plaster used th ecomb and light amounts of water to lossen it up.

Get a 3" putty knife and scrape the plaster with the edge of the putty knife.
