Hey, that's great you are trying out for cheerleading! And you sound very prepared, but just some tips for tryouts...
Be fit, on time and enthusiastic. Be prepared and alert to follow instructions. Keep a
positive attitude. Always have a smile on your face!
Listen to your captain/instructor. Don't play around with other people too much, I mean, be friendly, but this is serious work. Pay attention to steps you will be asked to follow, because you will learn something and then you have to preform it on the spot!
Don't be late for ANYTHING. Show up 3 hours early if you have to! 3 hours LATE will piss them off for sure!
Be sure to stretch real good before and after tryouts. Don't attempt moves unless you already know them or have trained for them. It will cause injury and annoy other team mates.
NEVER be afraid to ask a question (it's better than not knowing and making a fool of yourself), but don't say something like "I can't do this", no one needs - nor likes - a quitter, and that will send you packing SO fast.
If you make a mistake, move on and don't cause attention. Have tight moves and high jumps, and cheer LOUD!
Get lots of rest the night before, don't try and do too much physical activity the day before besides stretching or practicing a rountine, bring snacks and lots of water, don't wear jewlery, don't wear makeup, don't chew gum, keep your hair puled back, and most importantly keep that smile and passion!
I hope you have fun and make the squad! Good luck!

good enough i used to be within the equal role as u. it doesnt topic if ur preppy, that has not anything to do with the train opting for u. at tryouts they quite often train a dance and a couple of cheers and discover how good u decide upon up on matters. u both tryout with a accomplice or by means of urself and at my institution u needed to create ur possess cheer at the side of those they taught u. simply bc ur accomplice makes it does now not garuntee tht u will so if u decide upon sumone whose well for a accomplice dont assume to get in. additionally, in truth if theres sufficient women who're already cheerleaders to refill the squad, you certainly is not going to make it. if they have got empty spotss u then have a hazard. both method opt for it, if u dont make it this 12 months train sum extra and take tumbling categories nd check out subsequent 12 months.

Don't be nervous. SMILE, SMILE, SMILE and when you think you're smiling to much smile some more. Use lots of expressions. Make sure you eat in the morning. Practice your jumps ALOT!!! Practice your cheer until you feel like you rgoing to break. PUSH YOURSELF SO MUCH, UNTIL YOU FEEL LIKE YOU"RE GOING TO PASS OUT! You only have to do it for 5 minutes, then you can collapse afterwards. :) GOOD LUCK. Oh, and practice your facial expressions in the mirror. Watch the levels of your arms, and hit each motion like you're hitting a brick wall (strong)(Your arms should hurt afterwards)

STRETCH!! mostly your legs.
the more you stretch the better your jumps will get.
and remember to always hit a straight T when doing toe touchs and side herdelers etc.
Round offs
do not take a long step forward when doing your round off b/c it will get you lower if you were to do a roundoff backhand spring.
and make an upside down T with your hands, it will give you a better push.

Remember to smile at all times even to the point of exaggerating. It's sometimes hard to remember that because you're so nervous.
