We're in the same boat. My mom never told me what to do either. But on my own I decided to shave it. I only do when it's the summer or if it gets really long and itchy. And only on really special other occasions do I shave it. It's just a personal choice you'll have to decide on your own. Either way, whatever you chose will be fine. You are you, after all!

Why don't you ask her? Maybe she doesn't shave? On the flip side, I used to know a girl who went to the salon with her mom, and they both got brazilian waxes regularly, when she was 16.
So it's probably just not something your mom does. I don't think women used to shave / wax their pubes nearly as much back then as they do now. Another thing you should now is, a lot of guys like hair. I do. I also really like it shaved / waxed too though. It's good to change it up, from bald, to a full bush, to only hairy up top, to a strip or a heart. I also like girls who try different (head) hairstyle every now and again.

It's your decision to shave, trim or leave it natural. Think about it as your "other hairstyle". Best thing, if you just can't leave it alone, is to trim it with some sharp scissors every month or so. Shaving is itchy as hell, and the natural look can be a bit unsanitary during your period, or if your discharge gets thicker during ovulation.

Hi,
I am like you, my mom never told me either. I made the decision to shave it but that is a matter of personal preference. So I would say do what you feel is best. I hope that this helped. Good Luck!

My mom never told me anything about shaving. I started doing it on my own. I don't know if my daughter shaves her pubic area but she does shave her legs.
For me, it doesn't matter. When I shave, I shave it all off.

It's up to you whether or not you want to shave there or not. Keep in mind if you shave it, there will be irritation.
I personally leave it, but I trim it during the summer.
