I don't know what religion your family is but some people religion is a way of life and they won't change. But some people try to force religion on others and I don't think they realize they are doing it. We all need family in our lives. I would have to say now that you are an adult I would try to talk with them and make them understand religion is not a topic you will discuss with them and go from there.

well I think it is very mature of you to want to repair the relationship and also shows your caring and compassion to be willing to forgive, bridge the gap, and take the first step...you might be surprised. if your family doesn't treat you right, maybe you can limit your visits, but it is the only family you have so just try to get as much enjoyment as you can by setting your differences aside for the moments you spend with each other. good luck!

I'm going to say this because I'm a parent. try to mend the fence. don't let loved ones die thinking you hate them. one of 2 things will happen. it will be about religion and they'll cut you out of their lives, or they'll forgive you and everyone will move on. I'm thinking religion is supposed to teach forgiveness, so be of good cheer.

Approach them cautiously. Start slowly with light conversation. Drop HUGE hints that you have no intention of moving back, or joining their religion....
