MacArthur Park by Richard Harris. I hate spoiled desserts.
In the summer of 1967, songwriter Jimmy Webb ("Up Up and Away") composed a 22-minute cantata that ended with a seven-minute coda called "MacArthur Park." He offered it to Bones Howe, who produced The Association, for possible inclusion on the group's fourth LP. Howe loved it, but the group did not want to give up half the album for Webb's project, so they rejected it.
It was then picked up by Richard Harris who, although he wasn't known for his singing, was riding on his reputation as the lead in 'Camelot'.
The song runs 7 min 20 sec; a monumental feat for radio at that time.

On the MTV Video awards this year, Christina Aguilera sang this song called 'Hurt". I never heard it before but the way she sang it live, with the live orchestra playing behind her.........before she even finished, I was sheding some tears. It was amazing ,and even now when I hear it on the radio, I get all choked up. So to me ,"Hurt" by Christina Aguilera is the saddest song I ever enjoyed.... thanx for your time... ;)

An old man turned ninety-eight
He won the lottery and died the next day
It's a black fly in your Chardonnay
It's a death row pardon two minutes too late Iro
And isn't it ironic...dontcha think
It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought...it figures
Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly
He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids goodbye
He waited his whole damn life to take that flight
And as the plane crashed down he thought
"Well isn't this nice..."
And isn't it ironic...dontcha think
It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought...it figures
Well life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
When you think everything's okay and everything's going right
And life has a funny way of helping you out when
You think everything's gone wrong and everything blows up
In your face
A traffic jam when you're already late
A no-smoking sign on your cigarette break
It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife
It's meeting the man of my dreams
And then meeting his beautiful wife
And isn't it ironic...dontcha think
A little too ironic...and yeah I really do think...
It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought...it figures
Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
Life has a funny, funny way of helping you out
Helping you out

Can't remember exact title... "I think it's going to rain today" by Bette Midler, from Beaches soundtrack
Also, "Go rest high on that mountain" by Vince Gill (again, I might have the title wrong)
