There are quite a few kinds of nurses, just to name a few specialist nurses; ER nurses, Surgery nurses, Obstetric nurses, nicu nurses, paediatric nurses, geriatric nurses. This is just a few.

there are RNs and LPN (registered and Licensed Practitioner). Nurses work in lots of different specialties, like cardiology or dermatology. They can also work in a regular doctors office. They also work with the doctors during surgeries, in the operating room. They are all over the place, and great. I have two in my family, and have been working around them in the medical field for 11 years.
