Not sure what personal experience Grey area has but you will find the steel core rounds are armour piercing. What you need instead of double banana clips is a 75 round w/ Romanian Drum Magazine. If you want what you asked for try the site bellow.

Depends on which country you r'e in
pretty much all AK ammo 7.62 x 39 or intermediate as it is sometimes called is steel cored.
I was told this is for 2 reasons A) its cheaper than lead B) russians were always (or so we are told) ready for ww3 and steel cored ammo is less likely to mushroom and will inflict serious injury more often than kill ... ties up your reserve medics docs hospitals etc and will lower morale
