What's more important? Working for the next two months or having a full-term baby? If money is a motivator in that decision, ease your financail stress by seeking other financial resources. For example, you can make a few calls and inquire at your local WIC office to see if you are eligable for their program. They can provide you with lots of food. You could even reach out to local churches in the area for help if money gets that tight. Besides, if money is tight now, how much tighter will it be if you have to pay for the expensive cares of a child who is born with health problems due from premature delivery.

I would advise against returning to work. I went into preterm labor at 28 weeks due to a very bad UTI. I was put on Procardia to stop my contractions, but I spent 5 days in the hospital. I was not allowed to do much. Only allowed up and moving no more than 15 minutes at a time. I started dilating at 33 weeks and by 37 weeks, I went into labor and gave birth to my son. I would take it easy, there has got to be something else you can do. It isn't worth risking the life of your baby to keep a job that has you on your feet constantly.

I was on breathine too. I was on bed rest although I could do light things as long as I took many breaks. I would consider changing jobs. If that is not a possibility than consult with your doctor and ask if he can give you a written note so maybe you can file for disability or something( like to help with car payments...etc.)I started labor at 29 weeks and had her at 35 ( I started dilating at 29 weeks and was a 4 at my 33 week visit) Be prepared you will probably have the baby early... hopefully not too early!:) Good Luck !!!

shame Charlene you really seem to be like you've just had it with being pregnant. I understand. Listen, carry on with what your doing, especially the sex. it's great fun, relaxing and you guys won't have it for quite some time now, especially while your body is recuperating from birth. Sex at the end of pregnancy kind of irritates the cervix wall and mucus plug. Tell hubby or your boyfriend to come closer and give it all his got. remember your the pregnant one, he needs to do all the hard work. Doggy style is the best. it allows for deep penetration. I hope you wanted to hear about it, but don't know if the sharp vaginal pains you mentioned earlier will allow for the wild monkey dance. Enjoy!!! Your last resort, tell your doctor that you wanna be induced NOW, your 39 weeks along, you've done well. But I'll always say, your baby will come when your body, baby and mother nature is on the same level. Good luck!!!!!!

Pregnancy is a disability and if you are having reoccuring braxton-hicks contractions I would ask your doctor to let you off of work early on maternity leave. You have that right in the United States, it is the law. That is why you pay state disabililty with every paycheck.

If you want to risk the welfare of your child you can continue to work.

Its a serious thing for your body to decide to go into preterm labor, you need a new doctor if you were not directed how to care for yourself after such an ordeal.

The medication worked this time, but it doesnt stop it every time, and not if its progressed too far.

Get a new doctor, and stay off your feet. Technically for someone who have a history of preterm labor you should be laying down atleast every two hours.

I also went on medicine when I went into labor early and my doctor told me to stay on bed rest but I had already dialated, I missed one dose of my medicine by 30 minutes and I went into labor so make sure not to miss your meds. I would take it easy, I know money is important but so is your baby

They put me on brethine last week and I am not allowed to go back. I am still having braxton-hicks, but they are no longer painful. I wouldn't go back if I was you.... if you are anything like me, things like stress and needing to pee will bring on a little contraction. It sucks financially, but I am more worried about my kid.

I would call your dr just to clarify . I was a cashier and went into pre-term labour @ 28 weeks. I was put on Brethine as well and had to stop working. I also got disability compensation.

I'd talk with your boss... Explain the situation and see if you can do something else instead, like bussing, acting as a hostess, etc. Ask your Dr to write a note for your boss if it's needed.
