In the movie, National Treasure, at the end, Ben Gates and the gang discovers the room filled with treasure. I know this is really impossible, but what do you think they lit the room up with. He places his torch on something which is revealed to create a river of fire. This river of fire goes throughout the whole room, lighting it up. Question: what substance would you put in this river bed to set on fire, and would it really light up the whole room? How long would it take for this substance to evaporate?

I believe it was meant to be oil, I've read ancient egyptians used polished metal placed in strategic positions to reflect sunlight thus creating light to see by.

I suppose it could be charcoal, coal, or some type of lighter fluid/oil. I don't know how long it could burn or take to evaporate, but it did seem to light up the whole room quickly. If we're talking realistically (like there actually is a National Treasure, with tons of clues hidden in history, and there is a treasure room), one of these substances might have lasted long enough. But again, this is a movie, and it's Hollywood, so they probably just used some special effects.

I would of used Terrorist Blood who ruined my book to light the room of saving life as I intended in the first place.
The Constitution of the United States posters in different languages.
State Constitution posters.
Better Small Claims Court Systems and broshurers.
New Laymans Guide to US Constitutional Rights.
Abolish Terms Commonwealth, Court of Common Pleas, and The Commonwealth Court in Pennsylvania.
Alabama too long of a state constitution.
Kind of boring, I quess the movie was better, better through in World Rights and George Lippard for The United States of Iceland, know it all of the law jerk kids, the adults are almost hopeless! And do my best to get rid of North Dakota, the least violent state per ca-pita that doesn't help the rest of US, to the French Canadians and drive the Bloody British out of Pennsylvania and thereby obtain a star for The Monarchy of Pennsylvania......I better win or I might quit....Franklin Bengamin Gates! Ha!

oh that's prescious! Gunpowder.... that could possibly do it. There would be more sparkage though and not a liquid fire. I'd go with a combination of oils, sludge, and possibly methane in solid form. But I'm not a chemist.
