You need to know this

On your music sheet,, the Treble Clef (one that looks like a backward S. The top note is Soprano.
The bottom note is Alto.

On the bottom or the bass (looks like curled worm)
The high note or the top note is tenor.
The bottom note is bass.

You are probably a soprano, so you have the easy line. You should take a yellow highlight pen and highlight all of your parts. That way, you don't lost your place or get it mixed up with anyone else's part.

Good wishes. Choir is great. I am assuming you read music. Otherwise, you will have to get your choir director to show you what you part is and you can rehearse at home.

when you go to sing songs, find out what range you sing most comfortably at. if you can sing higher songs, you are probably a soprano or mezzo (second) soprano. if you feel most comfortable singing songs that are in a lower register, you are probably an alto.

like for me, i can hit soprano notes, but i sing most comfortably in at an alto range, so i am an alto. but occassionally if they need more mezzo sopranos then i will move and be a mezzo soprano.
