I am a strong believer in voting. I vote in every single election I can. Yesterday, before I got a chance to vote. I recieved a telephone call from the Police Enforcers that told me that I would be ARRESTED if I tried to vote! I vote in every election, always the perenial write in candidate "Jar Jar Binks", because I believe in democracy, and I believe in a better world. I shouldn't be threatened and oppressed like this? How are we to have a fair election if people are arrested when the try to vote? What can I do?

Don't you read the news? This was a partisan dirty trick to keep democrats from voting in key states -- the calls went something like, you are registered in some other state and if you try to vote you will be arrested. Virginia has called in the FBI to investigate; if you have evidence, you should contact your election authorities.

Well, did ya vote?

If you really did receive a phone call asserting you would be arrested, you should contact your local and national press, and any of the numerous organizations out there watching for this stuff. Or your congressional representitive (if he/she isn't republican that is - they tend not to give a ****).

No, Canada is. Canada doesn't deny people their fundamental rights because of race, creed, sexuality, or gender. The USA does...hard core.

Vote for a real person, and get a lawyer, I think you could probably sue.

Unless you have proof of the actual call, how will you prove this happened? Did you tape the call
