Actually, answering questions on Yahoo Q&A seems to make a sgnificant difference. Other than that, there are lots of articles around at the moment on SEO for Yahoo! and Google. IMedia is a good first place to look:

Use a proportionate number of keywords to your "solid" content. No more than 2-3 keywords to 200-300 words per page.

well if you are looking up soccer but you keep getting stuff on soccer balls andnot the sport it self you would do Soccer -ball
If you want to look up base ball but get stuff about differnt kind of sport balls.. you would do "base" balls because base is the main part.. and ball is the 2nd
