before you ask about curling you should ask about chess. Yes they are both sports... and to be honest if you dont know the rules or you arent playing they turn out to be the most boring sports ever

Dude, if you think that's bad, you should watch the last part of the Olympics. Did you know flag twirling is a sport? What about hoola hooping? What about playing with a ball? People never believe this -- it's like they've never watched the Olympics. But I've referenced a link that has pictures to prove it.
More deserving categories would be skateboarding, rugby, American football, flatulance and belching? I could think of infinite things more deserving than hoola hooping! I'm not against hoola hooping as a sport. It's just that whatever logic determines twirling a flag to be a sport but skateboarding not to be (anybody ever watch the X-games?) is retarded? In fact, it appears this decision-making process may actually be a sport in the Special Olympics. How else could you explain the retardation of it all?

If Nascar is a sport, curling definitely is. Sitting on your *** in a car, driving in circles with only left turns while sweating your balls off doesn't constitute a sport. Any fat bastard with a smoke in one hand and a beer in the other can be a Nascar driver. Sorry for the rant. Yes, curling is a sport.

Yes.
'Curling is a precision team sport similar to bowls or bocce, played on a rectangular sheet of prepared ice by two teams of four players each, using heavy polished granite stones which they slide down the ice towards a target area called the house.'

Yes. It requires strategy, skill and a surprising amount of physical control over your body. I just started curling a few weeks ago and I am SORE! not just from slamming my knee on the ice, but from actually sweeping and throwing the stone. Yes, its true that curlers don't have to be in peak physical condition. If you use that argument to justify if something is a "sport" or not please explain to me how Curt Schilling, CC Sabathia and David Wells can be premier athletes of the great American pastime?

Blah blah blah, If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all, didn't your mothers ever tell you that?? As a curler I come to this forum to find valid and legitimate questions and answers to a sport that I enjoy very much. Obviously you people that have nothing good to say about this game, must lack something in your own lives!! Go find something that interests you and leave the snide remarks behind.

It all depends on what definition you are using. As it is basically bowls on ice, then yes, it probably is a sport. Darts, on the other hand...
