Why are there hardly ever any cars parked on a street with a Factory, Pub, Grocery shop, Garage & News agents to name a few?

I dont think they need cars in many soaps, they never really seem to travel much anyway. And I think it's weird that in Eastenders no-one seems to own a washing machine!

When you work in the Baldwins factory, shop in the corner shop,
eat in Roys cafe and only go to the pub for entertainment what do you need a car for?

They can't afford cars, they spend all their money in the rovers!
