I currently live in Canada, but I grew up in what is now the Russian Federation. Yes, I enjoy living in Canada, but it was somewhat difficult to adjust...mostly because of getting accustomed to the new language. I have spoken English for many years and traveled to many English-speaking nations before living here, but it still was a lot to get used to. I still have a heavy accent and sometimes mispronounce words or arrange sentences poorly when I am speaking English, but most Canadians are tolerant of this.

...however, I've got plans to leave Canada to live in Germany, but probably not for a few years still. I am nearly fluent if not fluent, in German, and I have always been interested in the German culture. What will Canada do without me? Ha ha...

It is true that Canada is a bit unknown to Europeans. We know you have cold weather, that you speak 2 languages and that you probably are more educated than the average American. I have this opinion that is like living in the States but having the good things only. Sorry but now that I am thinking about it you should try to promote your country more. But relax, even though people might hate Americans, that's not the case with Canadians

I've only been to Southwestern Canada a very long time ago, but I do remember how beautiful it was. My best friend and her family is from Quebec and they are the most warmest and friendly people I've known. My father when he was still working traveled around Canada like Saskatchewan, Montreal and other provinces and he said that he enjoyed the beauty of the country immensely.

G'day from Oz

I spent a month in Canada and travelled from West to East (stopped in Calgary in time for the stampede - yeeha!)

I was blown away by the sheer beauty of Canda and felt that a month definitely wasn't enough time - which means I will have to go back one day!

I found you lot to be welcoming, friendly and informative with a genuine pride in your environment - quite similar to Aussies in some ways - I guess that's why we get on so well.

And I discovered Tim Horton's..........OH MY GOD - Timbits!!! It's making my mouth water just thinking about them!

bunch of hoser's, eh?

Everything I know about Canada, I learned from the movie - The Adventures of Bob & Doug McKenzie: Strange Brew.

I know that probably really ticks off Canadians, but it's true.
