Just an interesting side note. Abe Lincoln appointed to his cabinette- all of his political enemies. Hmmm- and he was considered one of our greatest presidents. Kinda' the opposite of the man currently in office, no?

Your assuming Gates was selected because he is a "family friend". Could it also be that he has relevant prior experience under several presidents including President Bush 41? Many presidents appoint individuals from prior administrations.

For what I read, my answer is 'NO". He look for the ex-president Bush opinion, instead to search for a good American at work at this moment. In my opinion this Mr. Gates will be another puppet of G.W. Bush.

Bush is the but headed person, who has no knowledge of running a government. V.P Dick is running him and he listens to him only.
