It would be as big a farce as the impeachment of Clinton was.
If Democrats are dumb enough to try it, let them. Republicans at that point shouldn't interfere with the Democrats if they're out to destroy themselves.

Yes and no. An impeachment takes up so much precious time of the entire administration, both Houses, all the reporters, which could be used for other important functions of our Government. The election result from yesterday should have sent a clear message, and at this stage I'll tell myself an actual impeachment does not help the Country.

as much as I would LOVE to see that happen - if it's not in the best interest of the US, then it shouldn't happen. it's a very serious matter, not just to be tossed around arbitrarily like it was in the Clinton days. It can become a big waste (and I mean BIG) of tax payer money and time, taking focus away from crutial issues and the running of this grand country. However, if it turns out that there is enough just cause, then the powers that be will take the appropriate steps. At least this time it will be for a good reason. But consider this - if Bush were to be impeached....who would take over for the remaining time?

Impeachment would most likely take a long time to process. Bush will have his last two years. Besides, many democrats have already said they are not interested in impeachment.

What would the point be at this point, as an earlier person said it would take almost two years to get him out of office even if the longshot paid off and he was impeached; and it wouldn't undo any of the harm he may have done or the young men who died in Iraq for a concept (democracy) that Bush was oh so willing to take away from us. I think the best bet is for the democrats to concern (and work withthe republicans) themselves with getting us out of Iraq,w orking on the economy and other issues that are of greater importance.

I'm with the answer at the top.... hearings would be a nice way to look into whether impeachment is called for. IF hearings lead to impeachment, I pray Cheney's first.

who will we impeach? I assume you mean Bush? what high crime has he committed? And don't give me the democrat dribble he he lied about wmd's. Kerry, Clinton and Gore all said that Saddam had wmd's. When Americans were flying flags on their antennas after 9/11 the Dem's were all for the war. As soon as Americans started dying in Iraq and the weak American public got tired of it the Dem's changed positions. Only Bush has had the courage to stick to his guns even if he has made some mistakes. America is doomed with Dem's in control. oh I forgot the Muslim loving French might smile on us now. Whoopee!!!

You mean .... if an elected official can violate federal law, publicly admit it, have it confirmed by the US Supreme Court, and never even get tried for their crimes...... yes, I'd be upset.
If Bush is tried (impeached) and found not guilty, so be it. But not even having the trial makes a mockery of the legal system, and makes it acceptable to break the law for anyone in power.
The idea that power makes people exempt from the law upsets me. And the fact that a significant percentage of the US population thinks that power should make people exempt is worse.

No. Our president has done nothing to deserve impeachment. The war in Iraq is going badly because I believe God wants that country to suffer.
If someone is swinging to punch another person and you step in between, what happens? We are stepping in where we don't belong or have all the facts.

I would love to see Bush impeached, however, the Democrats have other things more important to deal with right now, like cleaning up his messes.
