What a great question, you perversely cheered me up just by asking it. My vote goes with the broken heart healing faster, because it can partly depend on a certain amount of time passing, combined with meeting someone new. Unless you're a Miss Havisham type.
But I've known people with truly crushed spirits and they are dealing with something deeper inside themselves. Both scenarios are difficult and cause prolonged introspection, but having a crushed spirit does not necessarily involve an outside person who can be 'blamed.' Even if it does, there's just the person left alone with their crushed spirit -- it's a more individually-based source of misery, so the person would have to find their way out completely by themselves and find a reason for living. The external factors are less important than they are when a person's heart is broken. It's worth watching the film 'In the Mood for Love' and the sequel, '2046' in which the characters get a dose of both, so there's no escape.

A broken heart. A broken heart can be healed with love. A crushed spirit is just crushed. Hard to recover from.

A broken heart to me heals faster. A crushed spirit is a long period of torment and the spirit is the essence of the person, the deep core and roots of a person. That wound lies deep within and requires more work and time to heal.

I firmly believe that it is the broken heart that heals faster... if you still have your spirit you have the ability to love yourself and others... the heart will heal... but if your spirit is crush he reverse is true, you won't be able to love yourself or anyone else until you get your spirit back

I guess it depends on the person. I'd say a crushed spirit would heal faster because I feel like we have more control over that. Not sure why though.

the heart. I know once the spirit is crushed your never the same whereas a broken heart is going to happen more than once unless you live in utopia, and most can get over broke hearts.

i think a broken heart heels faster than a broken spirit cause when some one breaks ur hesrt then u feel crusjed right! been there done that but when a special someone comes along then ur heart isnt broken anymore right?

Umm my heart is still broken after three years. My crushed spirit isn't crished anymore.
