2. redeposit them somewhere. During this process, sort out boulders, cobble, and clay so that the deposit is mostly sand-sized grains. Water or wind can do this.
3. Once the sand is deposited--it helps to bury it.
4. Run fluids(water) through pore spaces in the sand and precipitate cement (from dissolved minerals in the water) in the spaces to hold the grains together. Silica or calcite cement are the most common types of cement.
