i like mp3s better. they are cheaper and do the same things if not better. plus ipods have 60g of memory? who can use up 60G!!!!!!! I own a chinese made mp3 although it is a bit old but it is only like 300chinese or a bit over 40 bucks. it has been through every thing. it is undestructable. it has been thrown out and landed 10 meters away on concreat and fell into a puddle full of water, kicked, droped for thousands on time, scraped against keys for hundreds of hours, exposed to rain for long periods of time and so on... but it just kept working and the battery life is 10 hours no matter pluged to a stereo or headphones. and with out the battery it is lighter than a permenant marker.

Technically, ipods are mp3 players. I prefer the non-ipod variety because they are cheaper and do exactly the same thing.
