Well, honestly, I wonder myself. But I think it is just young high school kids buying these old school My Little Pony and Strawberry Shortcake t shirts and also younger kids buying dog collars and wicked high platform boots (to fit in I am sure) and Hot Topic is just making boo koo bucks off these guys. I liked Hot Topic when I was in like 10th grade but after that I realized what an immature store this was. No mature adult would buy Nightmare before Christmas paraphernalia. Or continue to wear South Park t shirts. So don't worry, it is just the young ones buying that junk. Hopefully. So I think it remains a mystery how these people are still in business.

My kid likes to buy the rock t-shirts there.
They have good smelling perfume and fun jewelry and stickers.
I have never had a rude person wait on me at Hot Topic ever.
My son bought me a Nightmare Before Christmas umbrella and I do use it. I am 45 so adults do too buy this stuff.
Anyway, who cares what people buy or what they wear.
If you think it is too expensive and the things they sell are stupid then don't go there.

In my opinion, people see others wearing "punk" clothes and want to be just as cool as those kids they see. Mostly all of them are posers, but some are not. They like that style, so they spend their money on all of those types of clothing. I do not like Hot Topic either, but I respest others' opinions if they do! :)
