They get married then she dies, he goes off to school and then comes back to visit his father in law.

after they get married, they are married for a few years before she dies, and it shows him going to her dad's house and visiting him, so it ended on a good note, since her dad didn't approve of him earlier in the movie. it's been a while since i watched it but i remember something about the guy (shane west) reading a book, the one the girl's (mandy moore) mom gave to her) with poems or something, he read that to her dad.

Jamie and landon marry, that was her number one on her to-do list. She dies, and landon has some kind of emotional breakthrough.
in the book, Jamie actually lives. a lot of people actually miss that though, because they rush through the last chapter. the author has you thinking that she died, right up until the very last sentence. if you don't pay attention, you could miss it altogether!
It's a good movie, maybe i should go watch it...

at the end the girl and guy marry.. and she dies not to long after that and he goes to medical school gets to be a doctor like he planed... Its really kewl

She dies, but Landon (or whatever his name is) is forever changed by her. Which is incredibly sad while watching the movie.

Its so sad she dies of lukemia and she makes the best of it and remembers how life is so important!
