I'd get her a humidifier, and maybe some baby vicks. Other than that - she's too little for cold medicine. I've even heard doctors say that when they get sick they don't take anything for it (cold) because it gets better faster that way - so unfortunately, you might just have a rough week, but she'll get feeling better :) Youc an also elevate the head of her crib matress - sometimes this will help as she should still be sleeping on her back. I put a couple books under the head of my son's crib when he was sick (he had a couple overnight stays in the hospital because of what they thought to be Asthma - still not sure, but he was having a hard time breathing) Also, count how many times per minute she's breathing, if it's over 60 - i'd at least call your doctor. (but don't panic)

If you have a bouncy chair - put her to nap in that. Being elivated will help with the congestion. You could also try propping up her sleep area in her crib - just make sure to keep an eye on her, just in case.
Take her into the bathroom and run the shower hot and sit down on the floor with her - the steam can help as well.
Other than that, talk with your doctor about medications. Saline solutions as other shave suggested are considered safe for youngin's

i always found with congestion i found the following most helpful....
use a baby vicks rub
prop up bubs cot so that she will be slightly elevated...please note the best way to do this is by putting large books under the legs of her bed...do not tamper with mattress as that may cause suffocation.
use a humidifier if you have one..
when you have a shower try to accumulate steam and leave bubs in the room with you that in it will help to loosen the muucus
Dimetapp Infant drops is the only medication i found that actually worked. you should be able to get if from any pharmacy...
hope this helps

Same thing my mom used on me long ago........Vicks VaporRub.
Liquid works in a warm vapor humidifier. the ointment rub on her chest. Both will help. When my kids were small, the pediatrician had to agree her mom used it on her too and it worked. Her only comment was to use it no more than three days. Well, by then my kids were ALOT better and their body weren't flooded with medications.

well I am dealing with being sick myself and my 4 1/2 month old baby girl is sick... it has been hell! anyways... put the head of her crib/bassenett up on an angle some so she isn't sleeping completely flat, put a humidifier in her room, and you can use that bugger sucker thing then put saline drops (you can find them in the pharmecy dept.) in her nose and suck them again. Good luck!
You know if she isn't sick it could be because she is teething.

Does she drink cow's milk? She might have some kind of an allergy to it. I have read quite a few stories on children with runny noses, ear problems, and some other health issues. Their parents then switched to goat's milk. And it helped. But on your case, your daughter is under 1 year old, and it is usually not recommended to feed her goat's milk (nor cow's milk, in this case). Try either a soy-based formula or a hypoallergenic formula. Hope she gets better soon! =)

Try the saline nose spray for babies. Also consult your doctor for a decongestant you can give her, there is not much you can give to a child that age, but ask anyway. Try cool mist vapor from a vaporizer. Good luck, that was always the worst thing for me when my kids were real little. I feel for you.

Decongestant drops for infants. Also put a vicks medicated plug in her room. There is often a NURSE ON CALL that can answer all these questions at your hospital or clinic
