I usually just make a "channel changing" motion (don't pretend that you don't know what I'm talking about, you know the motion I'm talking about, the one where it looks like you're holding the remote and changing the channel) and call it the "thingy" or the "doo-hickey". I don't know why it's so difficult for me to remember what it's actually called.
