Being a libertarian, though, I hope the Dems stay for a long time while we get more popular, stealing the votes from all the thinking class Americans on the next couple elections. What do you think?

What are you talking about? What change of power in the White House? George W. Bush is still President. The change was in Congress, with a minuscule Dem-bulb plurality in the Senate and the election of a new crop of mostly moderate Dems in the House. There has not been a real shift in power.

I've never given much credence to polls, but I DID expect this. The major issue seemed Iraq. I really think it's always best, under any circumstances for there to be a "balance" of power, which there's not been. I suspect whatever "change" will be a long time coming.

I think the people are still conservative and the future remains to be seen. I am quite interested in how a democratic congress fairs against a president until now has vetoed only once.
