For the last year I have been verbally harassed from the owner of my company I work for. He woulf come up to my face and tell me on an alomost daily basis that he was paying me (which is a story within itself) and that he wanted more sales. Several times he put his hands toward my throat as if to choke me and cursed me out when I asked him to back down. What should I do?

You need to leave that job as it has the potential to get volatile. You need to contact a lawyer and start a lawsuit against him. He cannot place his hands on you or act in a threatening manner in which he has. He can be sued for this behavior. It is considered insubordination he can loose his business. Just because he is the owner doesn't give him the right to do what ever he wants to his employees. You have rights.

Quit, file unemployment immediately claiming the work environment was so stressful that any reasonable employee would quit (and give them DETAILS). Then look for a new job. No job is worth that type of abuse.
